YouTube closed the browser refresh hack… mostly, but not quite. If you take the code i posted before and add the SwitchProxy firefox plugin to switch your IP, you can still rack up a ton of views. SwitchProxy has a setting to automatically switch the proxy you are using – you can…
- Collect a long list of proxies (search google for “proxy list”)
- Import them in to SwitchProxy and have it switch the proxy every 2 seconds
- Run the code i posted before (or the Reload Every firefox plugin) auto refreshing on your YouTube video
If you can get a long enough list of proxies, this can be just as effective as the hack i posted before. Not sure if YouTube knows about this, i have emailed them.

I have the plugin but when i clicke save it does nothing. i go to add >> anonymous >> then import a txt file with the data enter a label name and click save. but it doesnt save
@Mario – Its probably not in the right format. It needs to be one proxy per line with no other information on the page i think… Try another proxy site.
I did what you suggested, and was able to switch proxies every two seconds. but when I use it on youtube or other sites, the site stalls and often times it says “proxy server is refusing connections”
Is this due to the unreliable proxies I chose, or are the website’s security refusing anonymous browsers? Also, one last question:
If I purchase an actual proxy switcher program, will this ensure that I can enter the sites?
Thanks.
@gamma – If you get the “Proxy server is refusing connections” message the proxy is refusing anonymous browsers. Whoever controls that proxy wants you to have a login name and password before connecting to it.
I am not sure about the proxy switcher program, i’ve never seen one you pay for. Which did you have in mind? I’m interested in how these work and why anyone would pay for them when SwitchProxy is free, and there are lots of proxy lists on the internet.
Are you sure Youtube didn’t disable this proxyswitcher also? I uploaded a current list of “free” proxies from what looked like a reliable website, and whenever I visit the site, my connection stalls and won’t activate the “reload every”
For the most part, nothing really works when I activate proxyswitcher. Sometimes it refuses connection, sometimes it won’t reload the page, othertimes it’s nothing but a white screen. Please let me know if you’ve tested this service or if it’s just logic that this should work.
To be honest, I would like to buy a reliable program which collects daily proxies. Every single proxy I found in google won’t work.
What’s your take on those websites that let you search certain sites like myspace and youtube under their Ip? I checked those too, and found that youtube won’t play videos.
@Gamma – If by “this service”, you mean the entire process that i posted about in the article getting you hits on YouTube, i have witnessed this, yes. I’m gonna stop short of saying I violated YouTube’s terms of service by testing it myself, but yes I have witnessed it to work.
Also, no one has contacted me yet indicating that this SHOULD NOT work by pointing out a hole in the logic. I did receive an email from some misguided soul who said “This not work proxy is a dead idea post something worth reading please”. I was quite insulted by the lack of effort in that response and fired back something quite nasty indicating as such, and asking why “proxy is a dead idea” (rofl)!
Because of the continued interest in this topic over the last few days I’ve thought of doing my own “proxy checker” desktop program, that will auto-download lists of proxies off the web and filter out the ones that are dead, giving you a list of proxies that work for you. Is anyone interested in this, and how much would you pay for such a program?
Finally, about those websites that let you search certain sites under their IP – if they let you view the youtube video under their IP (and not just search for it), this may help you out tremendously and could actually be another exploit that is separate from what i’m describing. I don’t have any experience with these sites, so i’d need a iswapyou blog reader to convince me that this would work. If I get some time i might look in to it on my own in the next few days.

i think you do not even need to run the reloader. there is an option in switch proxy to reload the page everytime it switches proxies.
guys i dont think it works. i have tried the proxy deal on firefox it only gave me 200 hits max.
Where do you get working proxies? I’ve searched dozens of sites, and can’t find any that actually work!
@Emily – I’m currently working on my own filtered self updating list of proxies , and when i’m done with that i’ll write a post about it. Stay tuned.
Hey thanks!
hey, just wondering if this work’s on safari? if so, how?
As of Oct 3, 2007, using even anonymous proxies doesn’t work … I dont know how Youtube is tracking views via these anonymous proxies … but this exploit is gone for once and all…
hello again, my macintosh broke down and i had get a new pc. this time i got the good old windows xp. i still need to remove some videos of me that got on youtube of a late night party. could you please tell me how? thanks for the response.
dieter.
surely theres another way? if you find one please contact me as soon as possible. i thank you very much for your time.
I know ways to game pretty much every aspect of youtube. If you want to talk, email me at viralvideosolutions@yahoo.com
I was able to still get 2000-10,000 views having auto-refresh running overnight and all day on 3 computers for 24 hours. so it worked for me.
well i am not a genius but the switch proxies doenst work, i have tried and it is noting more than trash perhaps if u buy a good proxy u could get more views , i tried the one by Microsoft and i was able to cross the 200 + views so , also i believe that youtube implemented a new system to count . i am just guessing but i think they match up Ips like the one u use to upload the video and the one u are using to refresh and there is a limit of about 200 so when u go beyond this point the robots are activated ….
I don’t understand how to import proxies what with the label, and file and Url. Please explain it.
I used this site and did this again last week on one of my new vids. got the views to 11k in 48 hours running on 3 computers most of the day and night. next time im gonna pay someone to do it. or use tubeanator program which seems better.

also been using tellyadder to add friends and been working awesome! not alot of views but added 5000 friends and getting about 20-30 new subscribers a day because of it! which is better than getting fake views to me. did all that in 11 days adding about 500 new friends a day. so went from 20 subscribers to 250 in 11 days. also when you add friends even if all 5000 dont approve you as a friend, you can still send them your video. so when I make a new video I can send it to over 5000. assuming all 5000 are active or not fake accounts. but that is still better than hoping someone will see your vid because you have alot of views and are on the featured page with no comments.
This is really going to help me at school.
